Three hospitalized following Moorhead car crash

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Three people were taken by ambulance to the hospital this morning after a speeding car smashed into a tree. The accident happened on 5th street in Moorhead just south of the Post Office around 1:30 AM.

Officers are still investigating if alcohol was involved. They found a bottle of liquor and an empty beer can close to the crash. Debris from the crash was sent flying and littered the boulevard. Officers say one of the victims had more severe injuries than the other two.

Lt. Mik Detloff – Moorhead Police: “Two of them were out and walking around the vehicle when we arrived. One was still in the car. He did have a cut on his head. I don’t know the extent of the other injuries.”

Lt. Detloff says neither of the cars two airbags deployed in the accident.
