A 5th grade teacher in Moorhead is being forced to resign after stating her stance on gay marriage. Families and staff from St. Joseph's Catholic School were notified through a letter that Trish Cameron would not return in the fall.
Cameron answered a self-evaluation that she doesn't agree with all church teachings, but doesn't let her personal view come into religion class. She later clarified in a discussion with school administration that she was talking about gay marriage.
Cameron says she wants people to listen to both sides of an issue before making a decision. She taught at the school for 11 years.
