West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - In less than 24 hours, someone's life will change in our area. Contractors teamed up to build a $500,000 house all to just give it away.

Can you imagine, hearing that sound as you open the door to a dream home, and it's just been given to you. Some 50,000 people signed up to win this new West Fargo house. Jason Christopherson is one of the 800 finalists; close enough for him to start thinking about this dream becoming reality.

Jason Christopherson – Qualifed for House: "It’s been probably the last week where I’ve obsessed over the idea and what would happen if you win and how it would change my life I mean honestly this is a gift of a lifetime for anybody."

The place is loaded. DesignerHomes packed in all of the latest trends to market to the tens of thousands who toured the home. It is a giveaway, but to keep it, you'd need about $9,000 a year for taxes and pay a portion of the home, a mortgage of about $200,000. If you can't afford it just sell it.

Robert Leslie - Designer Homes: "You'd still end up putting $300,000 cash in the bank."

Not a bad freebee. Tomorrow Jason will join the other 799 qualifiers at Scheels Arena. Twenty-five of them will be drawn to go up on stage to grab a key, and one of those keys will figuratively unlock the door to the house.

Jason Christopherson: "Saturday will be absolutely nerve wracking, but regardless of who wins being able to see them win a prize of this nature is going to be special in itself."

Robert Leslie: "The thought of someone being able to win it and not know it until that second...I don't know how to explain it because I’ve never seen it happen, but I’m really excited to see it for the first time."

Some of the runner-up prizes are a new hot-tub listed at about $14,000, a $7,000 sectional and 15 gift cards each worth a $100.
