Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - After talking for 3 weeks about the possibility of seeing horse racing's first Triple Crown winner in 34 years, we won't even have the chance. News broke this morning that Derby and Preakness winner I'll Have Another has been scratched from the Belmont Stakes and will retire with a strained tendon.

The news will take its toll on the betting industry this weekend, including locally at the Off-track betting facility below the Howard Johnson Hotel in Fargo.

Jack Macarthur – NDAD Off-Track Betting: “My immediate reaction was that there was going to be a lot of upset people, a lot of people where hoping to see a triple crown, as was I, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. To be honest, horse racing is interesting no matter who is running, in my opinion, it's always going to be interesting to me, as it would be for a lot of other people as well.”
