Moorhead teen facing several charges after confrontation with police

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A Moorhead teen faces several charges after police say he assaulted several people and a police officer. Nineteen year-old Omar Yaseen is in the Clay County Jail tonight. Police say the assaults took place about 12:30 today in the 3500 block of Village Green Drive.

Police at first, thought they were responding to a burglary. It turns out it was a physical altercation. Police say they asked Yaseen to drop a shovel he was carrying. He refused. When he threw it and hit one of the officers Yaseen was pepper sprayed and tazed.

Police say they're investigating the incident and the possibility of mental health issues.
