(WDAY TV) - A Dilworth man is pleading guilty to all three Animal Cruelty charges after police discovered 32 dead ball-python snakes in a storage garage this January.

50-year-old Henry Atherton made his plea in Clay Count Court this morning. He told the judge he brought the snakes up from Florida in November, but had no place to store them.

He tried giving them away, but nobody would take the snakes. Within weeks, they froze to death. The three charges - one a felony - carry a maximum 2-and-a-half-years in jail. Sentencing will be July 9th.
