WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — The Fraternal Order of Eagles has voted to be smoke-free at its club in Wahpeton.
Manager Chris Friday tells the Wahpeton Daily News (http://bit.ly/L0nvDk ) that less than 10 percent of people who frequent the club are smokers. Friday says he doesn't think going smoke free will have a negative effect on business.
The club had allowed smoking only in its lounge area.
Friday says the membership has been interested in remodeling the bar area but has been hesitant because of the damage that smoke can do. The club is open to the public and hosts meetings, wedding receptions and other functions.
