Wahpeton man killed in construction accident identified

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Police have identified the man killed in a construction accident Friday in West Fargo as 30-year-old Trevor James Skarphol of Fargo.

Skarphol died after a 28-foot steel beam fell on him while he was working on a new addition to the Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center in West Fargo.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.

The Forum newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/LCzlCR ) that West Fargo Assistant Police Chief Mike Reitan says a police investigation found no indications of foul play.

Reitan says Skarphol worked for Scott's Electric of Wahpeton, a subcontractor on the project.
