American Flags will be flying high this weekend, but remember, there's a few rules on how to fly it properly.

Veterans say you have other flags on display, the American flag should always be the highest. This shows superiority and respect.

Any flag displayed should be properly lit at night, and if you don't have it lit, it should be taken down at sunset.

Also, veterans say make sure it's in good condition.

Veteran Dave Rice says, "respect that flag, if it does become faded or frayed, and with North Dakota winds, they do become frayed, they should be replaced, a lot of veterans organizations will replace them for you."

Also, if you're getting a new flag, don't throw your old one in the garbage can. You can drop it off at a VFW, legion, or government office.
