FARGO – A 29-year-old Fargo man has been charged with aggravated assault and terrorizing after he allegedly held a woman against her will for several hours in a Main Avenue apartment, choking her unconscious multiple times and threatening to kill her if she left.
Lt. Joel Vettel said the suspect, who had a relationship with the woman, eventually forced her into a car. When he passed out, she escaped and called police at about 11 a.m., Vettel said.
The incident started at about 6 a.m. Thursday when the 20-year-old woman tried to leave the apartment in the 700 block of Main Avenue, Vettel said.
Michael Roy Cooper was arrested and taken to the Cass County Jail.
