The City of Moorhead announces a major milestone. Minnesota is giving the city more than $11.5 million for flood mitigation. Moorhead now has more than 90% of its flood mitigation plan paid for.
Mayor Mark Voxland says the money's going specifically to two places. It'll be put toward flood buyouts, and building dikes.
Mark Voxland – Moorhead Mayor: "That means every single lot, every single home in Moorhead is either above the hundred year flood plain naturally, or is protected."
Voxland says they hope to get the final funds during the next legislative session.
