If you are on the road this week you may want to buckle up in North Dakota, as the Click It or Ticket Campaign starts. Local law enforcement agencies are working together to make sure drivers stay safe on the roads.
Officers will be looking for people not wearing their seat belts as well as numerous other traffic violations. The Grand Forks Police Department wants to make sure all drivers keep safety a priority. Officers are slowly seeing more people buckling up.
Sgt. Dwight Love – Grand Forks Police Department: “I think it's kind of a cultural change that happens over time, I mean if you have children it's something they've been educated since birth to wear their seat belt. So they always want to have a seat belt on and they tell mom and dad wear your seat belt.”
The Click It or Ticket Campaign runs through June 3rd. Tickets are $20.
