Crews are optimistic that a stretch of road on Highway 59 at Plummer will soon re-open.
A detour has been in place for nearly 2 months now. It came after a semi collided with a train and spilled fuel into the area.
Soil testing showed it seeped below the roadbed forcing crews to tear it up and resurface it. Officials say the road could re-open as soon as early next week.
