The women's marathon was even more of a one sided finish.

Former Moorhead spud Lisa Dyer, who won a state cross country title in 2000, was neck and neck with 2006 marathon champ Meg Grindahl for the first ten miles. But Dyer pulled away from there to win in a personal best time of 2:45:15 for her first marathon victory in 7 tries.

Dyer says, "it's really nice, Meg, who's running, is a really good runner and she's run 2:45. If she was gonna go fast I was gonna let her go and try to reel her in. I didn't really expect to lead it."

Ladia Albertson-Junkans won the women's half marathon for the second straight year. The St. Paul runner finished in 1 hour and 18 minutes, beating last year's time by over two minutes.
