Moorhead's Horizon Middle School students are reminding all of us about sacrifice, just days ahead of the Memorial Day holiday. Four hundred sixth graders at Horizon showed off their projects on World War Two. They have been studying the war for weeks.

Some of the students profiled heroes of the war or talked about important battles. Others wrote about family members who spent time in the service during the War.

Steph Deitz – Horizon Teacher: “I think that is the most exciting thing is when we find grandparents with pictures and stories like the one who worked on the Enola Gay and another with a great grandparent in concentration camps, and the stories they tell is a great way to see history alive.”

As part of the World War Two project, veterans came in and talked to the students.
