GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Grand Forks County is chipping in for an effort to woo companies in the western North Dakota oil patch.
The Grand Forks Herald reports (http://bit.ly/Kuw05O) that the county commission this week agreed to contribute $10,000 to the Bakken Initiative. The $125,000 campaign is aimed at marketing the eastern North Dakota city's infrastructure to new or expanding energy companies.
The Grand Forks City Council earlier voted to spend $75,000 on the initiative that is named after the oil-rich Bakken formation.
