Law Enforcement officers in the Metro are being recognized for their work. Officers from Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead, Hawley, Cass and Clay Counties, and NDSU received awards. The awards were for DUI, speed, seat belt, child restraint, and underage drinking enforcement.

The Safe Community Coalition of the Red River honored the officers. Organizers for the group say their increased efforts make driving safer for all of us.

Robyn Litke – Safe Communities Coalition: “I think it is really important that they know that they have our support, that the community supports what they do and that we appreciate it, and that we want them to continue to keep doing it, because ultimately it is saving lives, and I think sometimes there is a little bit of a lack of appreciation.”

Some officers were awarded in two categories.
