BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The governors of North Dakota and South Dakota are requesting a flag tribute for law enforcement officers who have died on the job.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The governors of North Dakota and South Dakota are requesting a flag tribute for law enforcement officers who have died on the job.
North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple (DAL'-rim-puhl) is ordering state government agencies to fly their American and North Dakota flags at half-staff on Tuesday from sunrise to sunset.
South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard is asking South Dakotans to fly their flags at half-staff at their homes, offices and businesses on Tuesday.
The flag tribute is part of a national Peace Officers Memorial Day on Tuesday. President Barack Obama has proclaimed this week as Police Week.
North Dakota U.S. Attorney Tim Purdon is speaking at a Peace Officers Memorial Day ceremony in Fargo's Lindenwood Park on Tuesday.
