PORTLAND, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota transportation officials this week are dedicating the restored Viking Bridge in Traill County.

The Transportation Department says the structure is the state's oldest documented vehicle bridge. It was built in 1885 over the Goose River to link Mayville and Portland.

The $700,000 project to restore it was funded through the Federal Highway Administration. Construction took about a year. The dedication ceremony is set for Wednesday afternoon.
