Lions, tigers and bears, oh my…they're catching the eye of thieves in Fergus Falls.

Jade Hoffman – 425 E. Vasa Avenue, Fergus Falls: “I walked across the yard and they were there, and I came out the next morning and they were gone.”

In the last week there have been two reports of lion thefts in Fergus Falls. Missing from the entry way to this home are two brown lions, roughly 300 pounds and 3 feet tall...not an easy feat.

Jade Hoffman: “Am I being Punk'd or are they missing?”

On the other side of Fergus Falls, one of Lori Schoenrock several lions that guard her home have suddenly disappeared.

Lori Schoenrock – 402 W. Broadway Avenue, Fergus Falls: “They're very majestic and they're protectors.”

Schoenrock says these ornaments can weigh up to several hundred pounds, therefore she believes it would've taken several grown men and a plan to steal such a lion.

Lorei Schoenrock: “I don't wish harm on anyone, but I hope whoever did take my lions back there is going to have a medical bill because they have a hernia or a broken toe.”

Schoenrock is bound and determined to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Lori Schoenrock: “We have to cement them down with a pedestal.”

Hopefully a concrete solution will combat the new prankster fad in Otter Tail County.

If you have any information on the missing lion statues, you are asked to call Fergus Police at 218.332.5555
