Suspicious fire at abandoned farmstead near Manvel

Manvel, ND (WDAY TV) - It took two rural fire departments to put out a grass fire that broke out at an abandoned farmstead north of Manvel. The call came around 8 Thursday night.

The fire happened at a place that's had its share of suspicious fires. In December 2008, fire destroyed the home and garage. This as homeowner recuperated in Fargo from burns he suffered in a gas explosion near Hatton earlier that year.

Then in June 2009, another fire on the property destroyed vehicles and heavy equipment used by the man for his business. There's not much property damage from the grass fire.

The blaze is being called suspicious because of the history at this farmstead.
