About 50 employees from the city of Fargo now know how to handle a natural disaster other than a flood. The city went through three hour tornado training. The exercise was in the Hawthorne neighborhood, from 6th to 9th Streets and 9th to 11th Avenues South.
The city hasn't had one like this in years because of flooding. Police provided security and investigated. The planning department handled credentials for people coming and going into the area. Public Works and Forestry took care of cleanup.
Lt. Jeff Skuza – Fargo Police: “The office of emergency management who designed the scenarios is throwing a couple of wrinkles at us to see how we'd respond and they've hidden a couple parts of mannequins and that inside to signify human remains.”
