Metro COG is in the middle of a planning process which will likely bring about big changes to Main Avenue. It's doing a study of the traffic on Main, between 25th Street and the Red River.
It wants to make the street safer, and more efficient, for the 18,000-22,000 drivers using it each day. Metro COG is looking at putting in bike paths, better sidewalks, and maybe even a center turn lane.
Wade Kline – FM Metrocog: "When you get somebody taking a left, what you do is shut down one entire lane of traffic, so you get a lot of rear end activity, and you've got a lot of businesses along there."
There's a public input meeting about the study on Wednesday, May 23rd at five thirty, at the Fargo Park District Depot on Main Avenue.
