A bomb threat along with reports of a possible gunman inside Fargo’s Agassiz school forced a lockdown of that building this afternoon. No one was injured and no arrests have been made. The building was cleared by mid-afternoon. No bombs or gunman were found.
Fargo Police blocked off a wide area around Agassiz, forcing traffic on south University to detour. Close to 80 students inside the Agassiz building were kept in classrooms until the threat was cleared. Most of them were enrolled in ESL and the alternative high school.
Lt. Joel Vettel – Fargo Police: “There was some confusion about possibly where the gunshots were but we were able to determine there were no gunshots fired within the school. So we are basing that not only on testimony of the caller but people inside the building.”
The students evacuated from the Agassiz building were bused to Fargo South where they met their parents. All evening events and classes have been cancelled.
