Shoppers broke a sweat, lacing up their sneakers for the first ever Diva Dash in Grand Forks.
The all-women's event at UND's Wellness Center included a 5k and a morning of shopping. Vendors set up booths for runners to browse after the run.
Money raised went to breast cancer research and 26-year-old Stephanie Bauer.
Bauer is trying to raise 18 thousand dollars to participate in the World Race, where she will visit 11 countries in 11 months.
Diva Dash Organizer, Stephanie Bauer, says, "We'll be working with orphans and in churches and with human trafficking, and prostitution in India, Nepal, Kenya, Thailand and different places like that."
Bauer had already raised 11 thousand dollars this morning.
