3 men rescued after getting lost while kayaking near Crookston

Crookston, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Three men had to be rescued last night after getting lost in the dark while kayaking on Red Lake River near Crookston. The Polk County Sheriff's office got a call from the men at about 9:15 last night.
The men were stranded on the river bank without proper survival gear or clothing. One of them had capsized in a kayak and was in the beginning stages of hypothermia.
Officials quickly rescued the men, including 20-year-old Eric Blumke from Pillager, 20-year-old Andrew Motley from Hermantown and 19-year-old John Simmons of Lake Shore. All were treated and released at the scene.
