West Fargo DUI numbers are on the rise, but it's not the number of arrests that's alarming. There were 47 DUI arrests from January 1st to April 30th, up from 44 last year.

Police say they’ve seen a rise in the blood alcohol content of the drivers they pull over. Police say that on average a person will drive 60 times while intoxicated before their first arrest.

Lt. Duane Sall – West Fargo Police: “Our numbers are consistent. Our officers are out hitting the traffic hard. The training has always been better now as years go on.”

Sall says there is no specific place or intersection known for high DUI arrests. The numbers are fairly even throughout the city.
