This is going to be the busiest summer of road work ever in North Dakota. With that in mind the North Dakota DOT and Highway Patrol are asking drivers to take extra care in all those construction zones.

Last year there were just over 200 crashes in North Dakota work zones with one fatality. Construction sites are always changing and that can be challenging for drivers.

Captain Bryan Niewind – ND Highway Patrol: “You know you might travel the same route every day when you’re commuting to work. Every day it might be different so you have to be prepared you have to pay attention to the signs that they put up.”

Nationally the number of accidents in construction zones has declined the last three years.
