Moorhead Police are investigating the report of a physical assault and robbery of cash between two acquaintances from Minneapolis staying in Moorhead overnight.
Police were told that several adults had traveled to Moorhead from Minneapolis to have a good time and stay in a local hotel for a couple days. After a verbal argument between them, they were evicted from the hotel. A short time later, Gerald Ayodeji Grandsberry (28 years old) was punched multiple times in the face by Ardell Levert Jenkins (27 year old) and had his cash removed from his possession. Grandsberry was later transported to Essentia Health by FM Ambulance for treatment of his facial injuries.
Ardell Levert Jenkins was taken into custody and transported to the Clay County Jail pending a Long Form Complaint through the County Attorney’s office. Charges requested include:
• Felony 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery (Inflicting Bodily Harm)
• Gross Misdemeanor Providing False Name/Date of Birth to a Peace Officer
• Misdemeanor 5th Degree Assault (Inflicting Bodily Harm)
