Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Call it a battle of the spices, who could mix together the best batch of chili.
The competition is raising money for the youth group at Immanuel Lutheran in Grand Forks. There was also a silent auction.
It'll help send the group to the National Youth Gathering in San Antonio next Summer.
Last year's cook-off brought in 32-hundred dollars.
Zane Borth, youth group member, says, "A better understanding of Christ and my religion, more confidence in myself, and closer to my friends."
Emily Anderson, another youth group member, says, " I'm looking forward to meeting all the different youth that are going to be there and spending time with youth in our church too."
The trip will cost the group about 35-thousand dollars.
