Moorhead Police Break up Fight Involving a Knife

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- A Moorhead man is in jail after police responded to a fight, where they the caller thought a knife had been used.

24 year Corey Richard Northbird of Moorhead is facing felony assault charges. Moorhead Police were called to this apartment at 2415 4th avenue north last night, to break up a fight.

Witnesses say Northbird threatened to stab the victim as he chased them down the hallway. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deric Swenson with the Moorhead Police says, "the victim did got to the hospital with non-life threatning injuries, however this situation could have been much worse, it was a potentially violent situation, and luckily a bystander was able to reduce those injuries."

Northbird is being held at the Clay County Jail until charges are filed.
