When the Olympics head to London this summer, an NDSU student will be there in the thick of it. In two months, Michael Burns will leave the states for a job at the Olympics. Burns just finished his PhD in communication and will start a job near Boston. After working two other Olympics - Torino and Bejing - Michael is preparing to work with media and athletes at the upcoming London games.
Michael Burns – Working the Olympics: “I've always been a big Olympic nerd, no other way to describe it, when I was a little kid, I always dreamed of going to the Olympics, the fact I've got to work at 3 now, I couldn't be happier.”
One of Michael's jobs is to drive athletes to interviews, and in the last Olympics, Michael Phelps was in the car. The White House called Michael Burns's phone so President Obama could talk with Phelps.
