Moorhead considering findings of parking study

Could you soon see MSUM security officers writing parking tickets in Moorhead? Having MSUM monitor parking on streets around the campus is one of the suggestions of a parking study that has just come out.

Other suggestions include putting stripes to mark parking spaces on streets, and limiting times on parking on streets to get more students and faculty to use the lots at the school. Helping with the parking patrol could have other benefits as well.

Greg Lemke – MSUM Public Safety: “Right now if our people go by they see our vehicles that say MSUM public safety and there's a car blocking the cross walk or a driveway we just drive by and we can't do anything or don't do anything and so I think it would help us with the neighbors if they saw us reaching out to address those kind of issues.”

The city of Moorhead wants to decide what parts of the parking plan it will implement this summer.
