3 arrested in armed robbery of Red Wing Walmart

RED WING, Minn. (AP) — Police say they've made three arrests for an armed robbery at a Walmart store in Red Wing early Sunday.

Police Chief Tim Sletten says a man armed with a handgun demanded money from a clerk, left with an undetermined amount of cash and ran across the parking lot. A Goodhue County sheriff's deputy saw a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and tried to stop it.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in a field. Police say they recovered a handgun from the car. Authorities tell KTTC-TV (http://bit.ly/I6gjUk ) two men were arrested in the area where the car was found. Another man was arrested later.
