Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Grand forks sports fans are getting a rare chance to watch lacrosse this spring!

Players: "Preds on three! One, two, three, Predators!"

The grand forks predators are a first-year, high-school club team playing in a Minnesota league. This is Red River sophomore Trey Deck with one of his three goals, the team played Proctor, Minnesota today.

Later, East Grand Forks junior Tanner Lindstrom circles the net, and scores,

helping the predators to a 17-8 win... and putting them at two-and-three for the season.

Lindstrom says the game of lacrosse uses many skills from other sports.

Lindstrom says, "It's kind of like hockey, but there is also a lot of running involved which is like soccer and the physicality of football.

I've heard that most people think it's just hockey on a field. But, it's much more than that. It takes a lot of hand-eye coordination."

Coach Kelly Hurt says, "Where we are at right now is where I thought we were going to be at the end of the season. These guys are picking up quick. They are starting to learn the game and they go a lot faster. It's really nice."

The Predators players come from Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, and Warren, Minnesota.
