NDSU vs. UMKC

(WDAY TV) -- The crowd at Ellig Sports Complex got to see a record fall today. More on that in a bit, After Missouri-Kansas City opened the scoring with a run in the 4th, NDSU answered with one crack of the bat.

Bree Konz clubs a 2-run homerun over the left-field fence to give the Bison a 1-run lead.

One day after recording her first career no-hitter, Whitney Johnson was solid again. She allowed just 4 runs in 6 and a third innings, but only 1 of them was earned.

The Bison women have some power, in the 5th, one on for Jamie Gay who sends this ball screaming over the fence, it scores 2 for a 4-1 Bison lead.

But, UMKC forced it into extras, and in the 12th inning, Marlee Maples hit a 2-run homer to give the Kangaroos a 6-4 win. The 12 innings ties a record for the longest game in Bison history.
