Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra is bidding farwell to it's long time music Director Bernie Rubenstien.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra is bidding farwell to it's long time music Director Bernie Rubenstien.

Rubenstien was in charge of the orchestra for nine years. During his tenure, his goal was to improve the artistic quality of the orchestra.

Rubenstien says he has enjoyed every minute conducting the orchestra. Now, it's just time to venture new things.

The symphony performed Beethoven's Choral Fantasy and Mahler's Symphony Number one to a full house.

Rubenstien says, "there is always a logical time when one feels they have several more years to accomplish what they want to accomplish, and then it is a very good time to move on to give the organization time for new leadership and just to give yourself a little change of lifestyle."

The Orchestra is now looking for a new conductor.
