Sheriff: Oak Grove Boy Dies in Dirt Bike Crash
OAK GROVE, Minn. (AP) — A 9-year-old boy died after apparently crashing his motorized dirt bike on a rural track in Anoka County.
OAK GROVE, Minn. (AP) — A 9-year-old boy died after apparently crashing his motorized dirt bike on a rural track in Anoka County.
According to the county sheriff's office, another boy found the victim's body at about 7 p.m. Friday.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports (http://bit.ly/IGgrao ) the victim lived a couple houses away from a neighbor's track in Oak Grove.
No witnesses had been found by late Friday, and investigators believe the victim might have been riding alone. The boy, who was wearing a helmet, was unresponsive and the motorcycle was not running.
A medical helicopter was summoned, but paramedics pronounced the boy dead before it arrived.
Sheriff's officials believe the boy died from injuries suffered in the crash. An autopsy is planned.
