GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Women's Network is planning a workshop to help prepare women to seek office or serve as campaign staff.

The Grand Forks Herald reports (http://bit.ly/HNV1YP) that the Ready to Run workshop is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 21 at the University of North Dakota's Center for Innovation. The cost is $25

The network says women hold only 15 percent of North Dakota's legislative seats, one statewide office and less than one percent of county commission seats.

Nationally, North Dakota ranks 45th in the percentage of women in state legislature, down from 43rd two years ago.

Potential candidates will hear from political leaders, campaign consultants and party officials about how to get ready to run.
