West Fargo students commemorate Holocaust Rememberance Day

Some West Fargo students are going beyond the history books to get a true understanding of the Holocaust. Eighth grade language arts students at Cheney Middle School filled different areas of the school with displays on the Holocaust.

There are four areas, each one with a different focus: Victims, perpetrators, camps and the importance of tolerance. The students began working on the project about a month ago. They created the displays out of cardboard, LEGO and other materials. Students say this chapter in our history should never be forgotten.

Sadie Heitkamp – Cheney Middle School: “’Cause there was so many innocent people that died just for no reason and you never know it could happen again.”

This is the first year for the project. The displays were up just for today.
