Of the 103 suicides in North Dakota during the most recent year, 23% were Veteran and 12% were Native American. Of those who took their lives, 83% were males.
There are some unsettling numbers regarding suicide deaths in North Dakota. Of the 103 suicides in North Dakota during the most recent year, 23% were Veteran and 12% were Native American. Of those who took their lives, 83% were males.
At First Link, volunteers took 40,000 calls from people seeking help last year. Just over a thousand people called into First Link last year with questions or concerns specifically about suicide. That compared to 500 calls 2 years ago.
