GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Grand Forks man is accused of sexually assaulting two relatives in separate incidents that occurred nearly 30 years apart.
The Grand Forks Herald (http://bit.ly/I66jtj ) reports that 71-year-old Jack Duane Oatman was arraigned in Grand Forks County District Court on Tuesday on two counts of gross sexual imposition.
According to the newspaper, a court affidavit says Oatman acknowledged performing a non-consensual sexual act on an adult relative on Dec. 1. That charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
The other count involves alleged activity that occurred with a relative starting when she was 7 in 1983 and continuing to 1986. Oatman faces up to life in prison without parole for that charge.
