In Otter Tail County this afternoon, field work had to wait. There was a little history that everyone wanted to be a part of. Just outside Vining, Minnesota more than 500 people came to take part in the Moen Brothers Auction Sale.

Cars lined pastures and a lazy, hilly gravel road for more than a mile. The three bachelor Norwegian brothers never left their farm. Since not one of them ever married, all three just stayed together, and all three died within the last couple of years.

Today, more than a century of living went on the auction block. Items their parents brought over from Norway in the late 1800's along with collectibles from more than a 100 years of farm life - from the first radio, to the crank phonograph and telephone to books on farming and living a clean Lutheran life.

Beside good farmers, the Moen brothers had their very own private fishing lake, and a deer hunting woods they used successfully into their 80's and 90's.
