The smallest babies among us are getting a helping hand from a group of Fargo teachers. It's called “Grow, Baby, Grow” an annual Nic-U Preemie Baby Shower at Sanford. It's put on by the Fargo chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, a national teacher's professional organization.
The event pays tribute to the doctors, nurses, staff and preemie parents in the Nic-U. It also gave more than 130 gifts of new clothing to the hospital. The outfits will be placed on the baby bassinets as a reminder of the hope the preemies will grow into healthy children.
Eric Fatka – Father of Preemie: “Richard wasn't supposed to be born for another 11 weeks, so we weren't at all ready for him to show up and it's nice to be able to relax and have people say, ‘here, this is probably going to help you out.’”
This is the 4th year for the baby shower.
