Fargo Police are asking people to be more aware of their surroundings. A man suspected of 2 strong armed robberies is still on the loose. The crimes happened within minutes of each other and left both victims injured.

Around 1 AM Saturday morning, police were called to the 700 block of 28th Avenue North. That's where they say a man was struck in the head and then robbed. It's unclear what he was struck in the head with.

Less than ten minutes later, police got another call, this time to the 2800 block of 8th Street North, about a block away from the first strong armed robbery.

A woman told police that a man came up from behind her, said he had a gun and demanded money. The victim said she had no money. When she turned around, she was struck twice in the face, causing a broken tooth.

Both victims were intoxicated at the time of the assaults.

Lt. Joel Vettel – Fargo Police Departmet: "Again late at night, walking by yourself, maybe under the influence of alcohol, really take some steps to try to make yourself as safe as possible, maybe that's an appropriate time to ask a friend to walk with you or that's an appropriate time to take a taxi."

The suspect is described as an African American man, about six feet tall. He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a skull cap.

Neither victim was hospitalized. If you have any information on either case, you're asked to call Police at 241-1437.
