Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- It's a day off for the Force, and the team needs it.
Consider this, they played in Lincoln on Friday. Drove back for a game at Scheels arena on Saturday. And tomorrow, they start a best-of-3 first round playoff series, leaving the potential that they could play 5 games in 6 days.
This is when that off-season conditioning kicks in. Fargo hosts Sioux City in the opening round, a team they went 3-5 against in the regular season.
The Force put together a tremendous surge in December and January
to set them up for a playoff berth. But they enter the playoffs having lost 4 of 5.
Which, begs the question, are they ready for playoff hockey?
Co-leader of the team, Austin Farley, says, "I know the focus is still there. The games have obviously been tougher. This time of year play moves up and it gets more physical. Guys compete harder. You're playing for the Clark Cup and I think every team shows it and that's what they want to do."
I'll be out there live tomorrow with Force Head Coach John Marks on WDAY Sports at 6.
