West Fargo police are stepping up patrols on Main Avenue. Speeds have been reduced to 25 miles per hour in the construction zone.

Police noticed people have been speeding through the area so they will be stepping up enforcement of the speed limit. At times there will be one marked police vehicle and one unmarked car checking the speed of all vehicles that drive by.

Patrick Hanson – West Fargo Police: “This is going to be an ongoing project. The construction actually goes through october weather permitting so we are going to focus on this as much as we can.”

The amount for a ticket is $80 for 10 miles over the speed limit, and the price increases after that.
