Moorhead police are answering citizen concerns by beefing up enforcement near Moorhead High School. Officers are focusing on heavy traffic times, like before and after school.

The increased patrols started yesterday and 12 cars were stopped, most for disobeying a stop sign at 4th avenue and Oakway. Police are asking drivers to be cautious, as this area has heavy pedestrian traffic.

Sgt. Deric Swenson – Moorhead Police: “Just want to let the public know that we are taking the citizens’ complaints seriously and we want to go out and make sure the public also realizes that we are going to be in that area and we ask people in our community to use extra caution any time they are in a school zone.”

Patrols will be increased throughout the week.
