BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Police says a Brookings woman faces a criminal charge after she reportedly broke into a home and breast fed a stranger's child, then crawled into a bed after the mother called police.
Twenty-four-year-old Rebecca Silva has been charged with unlawful occupancy, a misdemeanor.
Brookings police say the mother called 911 around 5 a.m. Sunday to report that a woman she didn't know had entered her home in Brookings and tried to breast feed her 2-month-old child.
Police say the child was not injured.
Silva was arrested, charged and detained at the Brookings County Detention Center before being released on her own personal recognizance.
A phone listing for Silva could not be located.
