FEMA trailers used in Minot could be moving to another part of North Dakota. Not to deal with floodwaters. But the oil boom.
Governor Jack Dalrymple is making the special request to President Obama. He wants the 25-hundred trailers to move west next year.
There are 245 oil wells, with another 350 permits already approved on Fort Berthold. As the number of wells double, so will housing.
Governor Dalyrmple says, "We are asking that the reservations in North Dakota have an advantage in the bidding and application for the distribution of the trailers."
There's already a one thousand unit shortfall on the reservation right now.
